Attitude Towards Work and People

The Japanese culture is one which encourages students to work more than required. The studying is treated as something more important than family and social life. This as a result, leads to Japanese workers staying late at work after the required time. Many Japanese workers who travel to the U.S. find it shocking that Americans do not stay late to finish work. Westerners tend to go home right after work time because they prioritize their family.

Along with that, Japanese culture and education tends to prevent children from speaking to strangers. This is for the obvious reason that the stranger may be dangerous. This type of thinking leads to lack of social ability, which makes the lives of overseas Japanese workers difficult. Although Japanese have a higher commitment to work itself, they are not committed to their employers and employees as much as Americans are.

Japanese Products

Whenever a foreigner sees the label "made in Japan", it seems to gain the consumer’s automatic trust. Made in Japan has become a brand name in a way. The quality of the product is reassured just because it was made in Japan. The reason behind this trust is the attitude of Japanese towards work. As mentioned above, Japanese workers prioritize their companies over their family. the Japanese Government system guarantees employees that they can stay employed until the age of 60, when they retire. After retirement, the government distributes a fair amount of money to them, so there are not much financial worries. In return, Japanese employees tend to devote their lives to their companies, and try their best for better results. This is not only because of the government system, but mostly because of how they were educated. Japanese students are taught to work hard for others and for your company before you care for your family.
